I've been a Mac user and an Apple fan since the 1980s. But the iPad is a joke. So what does it do that my 6 y/o Powerbook doesn't do and do better? Touch screen? Big deal.

I have a 10 y/o Win200 tablet PC with a touch screen that does eveyrthing and more than the iPad. That Apple has a big worm in it.

@itemforty He actually did say that it didn't have a camera, just not in those words. I'm not a fan of the iPad or Apple and I do agree that there are way cheeper things that do much more.

You forgot that it doesn't have a normal USB port on it. Or that it doesn't have a camera. Or that the back is rounded so it wobbles when you set it down to type.

You could easily purchase any number of electronics that do a thousand more things than the iPad for equal or lesser price. My HP Pavillion tx2000 is much better in all regards except for weight/size, and I bought it refurbished for $550.

If this device had a pen and OSX, it would have actually satisfied *all the people who were initially interested in it.* Now, it's literally just a larger version of something already available, which is not innovative. It's just lazy.

HTML5 is not promising for Apple, it's promising for owners of iPods/iPhones/iPads. Apple claims they don't support Flash because it's buggy. But the truth is if they did support it, there would probably be less Game App purchasing.
